Reverse Engineering Specialist
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze physical components and create digital CAD models using 3D scanning or manual measurement.
- Use reverse engineering software (Geomagic, Rapidform, or PolyWorks) to reconstruct parts.
- Modify and optimize existing designs for manufacturability or performance improvements.
- Validate models against original parts for dimensional accuracy.
- Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to support legacy part reproduction.
- Document reverse engineering processes and maintain version control.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in reverse engineering or product development.
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA, Siemens NX).
- Strong knowledge of GD&T and tolerancing standards.
- Experience with 3D scanning and metrology tools.
- Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in aerospace, automotive, or medical device industries.
- Knowledge of additive manufacturing (3D printing) workflows.
- Certification in reverse engineering or advanced CAD modeling.
